For a "natural" diet, it sure seems complicated! Can someone really thrive as a Lazy Raw Foodist?
Sure, you can eat mono-meals-mangos for lunch, melon for dinner-but what if you're lazy AND you love "real foods"? What if you like decadent raw desserts like lemon meringue pie, carrot cake or chocolate pudding-but don't have an extra 4-15 hours of prep time? What if you crave Mexican rice, salmon, or sushi? Does that mean you're willing to spend 3 hours in the kitchen? I think Steve Pavlina put it best when he said, "Just because I'm a raw foodist doesn't mean I want to become a gourmet chef." And that's just the food prep side of things! Raw food diets really do demand some education-especially if you want to avoid complications down the road. As an Intuitive Life Coach who happens to be a successfully Lazy Raw Foodist, I receive a lot of requests for recipes:
"These taste just like oatmeal raisin cookies! You must have spent days preparing them." I giggle, because you see, I really don't do difficult food prep. I also don't live on mono-meals. Nor do I eat out all the time-although I have been known to do so if synchronicity cooperates.
Mostly, I just love raw food, and I take particular pleasure in finding ways to make it delicious, sustainable and above all else: easy.
My blood tests always score in optimal range, even without following a careful diet, so clients and students keep asking how they can have this much fun without the learning curve. I coach artists, writers, chefs and visionaries-people who sense the raw lifestyle would provide loads of clarity, creativity and vitality ... if only they knew how to avoid pitfalls and temptations. Having lived high raw vegan since 2004, I've found my own way, but I've also helped others find ways that work for them.
So many folks continue to ask me for raw food recipes and advice that I recognized a need for very busy people to access easy yet fun ways of manifesting a raw lifestyle. Yes, I said manifesting, because it's not just about the food. "Living raw" fosters our latent abilities to create the life we want-including access to the most delectable and healthy treats imaginable. One person's "lazy" is another's "effortless abundance" ... and this e-book helps you to receive just that.
The Lazy Raw Foodist's Guide includes:
- 192 pages of info and support for the raw diet-especially nutritional, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects that tend to slow people down, discourage them or otherwise make life difficult. It also covers dental issues, kitchen equipment, eating disorders, and living with non-raw partners. You'll learn how to make your own informed decisions, so that you can design and create a diet and lifestyle that work for you.
- Over 45 easy recipes by some of today's top raw chefs, including Cherie Soria (Living Light Culinary Institute and Café), Sarma Melngailis (Pure Food & Wine; Raw Food, Real World; and One Lucky Duck), Karen Knowler (The Raw Food Coach), Angela Elliott (Alive in Five!), Alissa Cohen (Living on Live Food), Shazzie, and more! We're talking super-energizing smoothies, salads, entrees, soups and desserts that look beautiful and keep you going strong for hours. You'll also find original recipes from active raw foodists like Anthony Anderson (the raw model), Heidi and JS Ohlander of Raw Food Right Now, John Kohler, and others, as well as heavily requested "recipes" I make for energy. (I include that popular raw version of oatmeal raisin cookies and some Lazy Raw Foodist potluck favorites.)
- A Super-Lazy Bonus section with links to vegan and raw food restaurant guides, places that will deliver gourmet raw food to you, and personal picks for mail order items.
